ABOUT COACH G

MY STORY

Growing up in Minnesota, hockey was a huge part of my life from an early age. I developed through competitive youth hockey before playing one year of high school hockey and eventually advancing to the junior level. I spent five seasons competing in the NA3HL, where I learned what it truly takes to compete, develop, and grow both on and off the ice.

Following my junior career, I continued playing collegiate hockey at the University of Central Oklahoma, where I completed my final season while continuing to develop my understanding of the game at a high level.

Through every stage of my playing career, I experienced firsthand the importance of quality skill development, consistent habits, and high-compete training environments. Those experiences are what led me to create Coach G Hockey.

Today, I work with youth hockey players across Illinois through private lessons, small group skates, camps, and development clinics focused on skating, puck skills, shooting, hockey IQ, and confidence. My goal is to help players maximize their potential while building habits that translate directly into games and long-term success.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe players develop best in high-energy, detail-oriented environments that simulate the pace and pressure of real game situations. Every session is designed to challenge players both physically and mentally while building confidence through repetition and progression.

My coaching focuses on:

  • Game-realistic skill development

  • High compete level and intensity

  • Skating mechanics and edge control

  • Puck handling and shooting under pressure

  • Attention to detail

  • Hockey IQ and decision-making

  • Confidence building through repetition

  • Creating habits that translate directly into games

Whether working with beginners or elite-level players, my goal is to create an environment where athletes are pushed to improve, compete, and develop a true passion for the game.
